Why Turkish

Why translate English videos into Turkish?

English-language creators, schools and companies translate their videos because four in five people on earth don't speak English, and most of them would rather watch in their own language.

About 94 million people speak Turkish. Turkey's population of about 85 million is young and very online, and Turkish TV series are among the most exported in the world, so Turkish audiences are used to well-produced video in their own language.

What changes from English to Turkish

Sen or siz

Turkish uses the familiar sen and the polite or plural siz. Speaking to an audience, siz is the safe choice; watch the first dub to confirm the tone.

Words built from suffixes

Turkish builds meaning by stacking suffixes onto a root: ev (house) becomes evlerimizden, 'from our houses'. One Turkish word can carry a whole English phrase.

Verb at the end

Turkish sentences end with the verb (subject, object, verb), so translation rebuilds each sentence rather than swapping words one for one.

Coming from English

English is compact: the same idea usually takes more words in Spanish, French or German, and localization teams plan for 15–35% longer text. AutoDub lets the timing stretch slightly instead of speeding the voice up, so the translated speech keeps a natural pace.
