Why Arabic

Why translate French videos into Arabic?

French-speaking creators and companies, from Paris to Montreal and Dakar, translate their videos to reach English-speaking clients, investors and viewers worldwide.

Arabic is an official language in more than 20 countries, from Morocco and Egypt to Saudi Arabia and the UAE, and about 335 million people use Modern Standard Arabic, its shared written and broadcast form. One Arabic version reaches viewers from the Atlantic coast of Morocco to the Gulf.

  • Creators and educators reaching the Middle East and North Africa
  • Brands launching in Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Egypt
  • Courses and training for Arabic-speaking teams

What changes from French to Arabic

Standard Arabic and dialects

Modern Standard Arabic (الفصحى) is the shared language of news, education and business across the Arab world; at home people speak dialects such as Egyptian, Levantine, Gulf and Maghrebi. Standard Arabic is understood everywhere.

Right-to-left subtitles

Arabic is written right to left. The SRT and VTT files contain Arabic text that YouTube and modern players display right to left automatically.

One version, many countries

Because standard Arabic is understood from Morocco to Iraq, one Arabic version can serve viewers in more than 20 countries, something no single dialect does as reliably.

Coming from French

French is spoken at about 7.2 syllables a second, a little faster than English's 6.2 (Pellegrino et al., 2011), so an English version of a French speaker usually has time to spare.

French and Arabic

French is widely used in North Africa, but Arabic reaches much further: the whole Middle East and the Gulf, where French is rarely spoken. An Arabic version takes French content from the Maghreb to the Gulf.

To translate a French video to Arabic, upload the file to AutoDub or paste a YouTube, TikTok or Instagram link, choose Arabic, and download the dubbed video: your own voice speaking Arabic, lip-synced, with Arabic subtitles as SRT and VTT files. Most videos are ready in 5–15 minutes, and your first 2 minutes are free.

Yes. AutoDub clones the voice of the person speaking in your video and uses it for the Arabic dub, so viewers hear you, with your tone and emotion, and the lips are synced to the new audio.

Yes. Every dub comes with Arabic subtitles as SRT and VTT files, in arabic script, written right to left. YouTube and other modern players display them right to left. Upload them to YouTube as captions or use them in any player.

Most videos are ready in 5–15 minutes. A video can be up to 30 minutes long, and you don't need to wait on the page: AutoDub e-mails you when the Arabic version is ready.

Your first 2 minutes are free, no card needed. After that you pay by the minute of video, whatever the language: minute packs start at $25 for 10 minutes, and monthly plans start at $39.

Yes. Paste a YouTube, TikTok or Instagram link instead of uploading a file; AutoDub fetches the video, dubs it into Arabic and gives you an MP4 to download. Only translate videos you own or have the rights to use.

AutoDub combines speech recognition, translation and voice cloning, and most everyday, educational and business videos come out ready to publish. Names, slang and specialist terms are the usual weak spots, so watch the Arabic version once before you publish it.

AutoDub dubs into standard Arabic, the form viewers from Morocco to the Gulf understand, rather than one local dialect; separate dialects such as Egyptian or Gulf Arabic aren't offered. The subtitles are in Arabic script and display right to left.

Yes. Choose French as the language to dub into; our Arabic to French page explains the details.
